PC and wife fatally stabbed, son injured

A Police constable (PC) and his wife were allegedly hacked to death late last night in Kambrupitiya, while their two-year-old son who also received injuries is currently being treated at the Matara Hospital.

The deceased were identified as PC Liyanaracchige Sunil (33) and Apsara Samanmalee (29).

The PC was attached to the Matara Police anti vice squad.

A suspect connected to the underworld in the area has been identified, Police said.

Meanwhile, investigations into the incident are underway.
